At PD French Polishing we offer any possible woodfinishing services you may require. We love finding the right solution for every situation, and are not deterred by a challenge! From reviving old and tired wood, restoring damaged or scratched tables & furniture through to larger residential projects such as hand stripping & re-finishing of doors, tables, staircases & panelling, we are sure that we can meet any of our customers requirements. Typical jobs that we tend to undertake include re-polishing of tables, removal of ring marks or staining, stripping and resto of handrails, staining and colouring new items to match existing. Floor Sanding is another service that we offer. Whilst working in a residential environment we try to keep disruption to a minimum, smaller items of can be taken away to our workshop to be restored but where this is not possible we endeavour to keep dust and mess to a minimum, protecting your home as required. Much of our work is based around the London and surrounding areas although we are prepared to travel further afield. Below are two examples of our work, one a quite unique residential property designed by the famous Architect Edwin Lutyens, made entirely from Cedar timber(even roof tiles) In fact the brick chimney was the only part of the house not made from timber! Panelling, coving and skirting was stripped, bleached, sealed and waxed to provide a naturally mellow restored finish. Cabinet in second picture shows Walnut bureau with writing desk, staining removed and restored. Winston Churchill met with Roosevelt here during the war although there is no evidence that he used the desk!
